Pets . . .

I love animals. I guess that explains why I've had so many pets in my life. I've had so many different kinds of pets from a dog and cats to hamsters, a turtle, iguana and a rat. However, if I had to choose, my favourite pet to own would be a hamster. Here are some pictures of my little 'friends':

Misty - Misty's my 'Mew' (cat). We've had her ever since 1983. I love her even though she's not a hamster because she's been with us for so long. She's old and getting very senile. Sometimes she forgets to use her litter box.

Gilfred - Gilfred's my baby...his name comes from the movie, Lady Jane. We got him a couple of months after Ben and I had been married. He's half Dochsand and half Terrier...more like 'terror', but I love'm. He was too wild to have indoors, so he lives next door at Ben's parents house because their yard is fenced in.

Ingrid - Ingrid's our box turtle. I got her one day as a present for Ben. She has a cool 'shell' with colourful patterns. She's kinda shy though and when she eats it's real gross because she likes snails and slugs.

Virgil - Virgil was our iguana...always the life of our parties. He was beautiful and always held his head up high...so proud, so regal. Then he got sick with metabolic bone disease and after he got better, he prolapsed his quacum. That's what killed him. We tried to do everything we could...the vet. said to poke it back in with a little bit a vaseline and a q-tip, but it kept coming back out and each time it bled worse til one day he died while I was at work. I was so sad, I cried.

Corazon - Corazon deserves his own page (WARNING: Corazon's page contains pics and animated gifs, so it might take a while to load). He was my dearest hamster...I loved him so much. Every time I'd come home from work, I'd call his name and he would jump with excitement, waiting for me to hold him. He was so cute and cuddly until one day he didn't come when I called him...he was sick. He wasn't dead, but he wasn't moving much either. I stayed with him all night, trying to warm him up, but then he died...right in front of my eyes. I cried for days...even more than when Virgil died. I still miss him to this day.

The Spiral Cat - SpiralCat is our most recent pet that we've adopted.
