Morro
Bay . . .![]() Back in July, Ben and I took a little vacation from the 106-degree weather in town and went to Morro Bay for the day. The weather was so much nicer there...it was sunny, yet cool at the same time. It was a nice break from the heat...especially since I was in my 4th month of pregnancy. I had to wear sunglasses at the beach because the sun reflected off the ocean water. It was pasow because the sun also reflected off my skin, making my legs look even whiter than they are! When we first arrived at the beach, we visited a few tourist shops first and then headed toward the ocean. It still amazes me, even after all the times I've visited Morro Bay, how big Morro Rock is. Standing next to it, you can look up and barely see the bunches of seagulls flying at the top of the rock...they look so tiny compared to it and it makes you realize how far away it is to the top.
The day before I bought myself a maternity bathing suit. I thought 'what the heck, I won't know anybody and how often will I be pregnant at the beach anyway?' It was pretty fun wearing it too (it wasn't so fun after developing the picture and actually seeing it!). Ben and I spent a lot of
time walking up and down the shoreline. I've always liked
walking barefoot in the sand and letting the tide rush
over my feet. I found out it was a little harder to keep
my balance in the tide because of my big
belly. It took a
while to talk Ben into taking his sandles off so he could
get his feet wet, but he finally did it (Ben doesn't like to walk in
the ocean water...he doesn't like the sand on his feet
either). The sun was starting to set so we had to leave the beach, wipe the sand off our feet, which became quite an ordeal because it stuck like glue, and change clothes to go out to dinner. I've had better dinners...this one was way overpriced only because it was in Moro Bay. After dinner, Ben and I took turns admiring the gumball machine and then we were on our way home. We didn't really buy any souvenirs, but I did manage to find some cute rubber bebe stamps and we made our own little Morro Bay coin (which costed 50 cents plus the penny we used to make it).
