Motor: 1964 Mercury model 110 9.8 hp
Driver: 180 pounds
Observed speed using GPS: 20.5 mph
Comment: Gets on plane in about 20 feet, added 240 pound passenger and still recorded 14 mphTest #2
Motor: Briggs & Stratton Etek DC permanent magnet motor on a homemade lower unit

Comment: The 20 cubic inch Mercurys of the period were notoriously underrated on power. It says right on the motor 10 horsepower but this thing is a lot faster the Merc model 110 which is the subject of an earlier testClick here to return to my Diablo page
