What's the Latest around Auberry Road
Well I finally transferred the '87 Dodge 4X4 I gave to Cobyn back into my
name. That's the truck I gave him a year ago. I guess I inherited another
project, like I need more to do. It's not quite in the same shape in which I
gave it to him. Still it will be handy to have around. Now I'll have four
vehicles parked here. And yes they all are running.
Nan and John Yates will be visiting here later this month. They are coming
to see an event in Clovis. Visitors are always welcome here.
There are always rooms ready. Feel free to stop in and stay.
Two weekends ago, Bob Murray (my neighbor) and I hiked to the top of
the two northern most table
mountains. The flowers were almost through
blooming since the rain here has been light and the weather unusually
warm. Bob pointed out some rare flowers which only grow on the tops of
mountains like these. It has started raining again the last few days so the
coming weeks should be good for hiking in the nature conservancy. Bob
and I plan to hike the abandon rail road bed that runs through the valley
behind my place.
I have been staying busy keeping up with the weeds and general
maintenance around here. I have been getting a lot of quality time with
my tractor. Major projects are waiting for the weather to get a little
warmer and the days to get a little longer.
The hills are getting greener and the flowers will soon be blooming.
Between now and mid May is a great time of year to hike the hills around
here. The views are great and the weather is mild. Feel free to stay a few
days here. Relax and get a change of pace. There is always plenty of
room and food.
