We can ticket almost every airline flying to the Philippines and Asia. We also do "Pre Paid One Way Tickets" from the Philippines to the U.S. We offer the following information on some of the airlines below:

INTERNATIONAL CARRIERS

PHILIPPINE AIRLINES

Shortest flying time from the U.S.  New 747-400 planes leave from San Francisco or Los Angeles daily.  San Francisco flight is always a non stop with a flying time of less than 13 hours to Manila.  Evening departures allows for an early morning arrival in Manila which allows you to connect to other flights on P.A.L. to other Philippine domestic destinations.  It also allows you to connect to the Cebu Express flight leaving from the International Terminal (your luggage is checked thru to Cebu) and you go thru customs and immigration in Cebu.  Currently the Cebu Express is daily and you arrive in Cebu at 7 a.m.  Also true for the return...Cebu Express flight in the evening connecting to Manila for the flight to San Francisco with minimum lay over time.   P.A.L. is still recovering from the strike/bankruptcy/shutdown, but more money from investors has given the carrier a chance to continue.  Interline flights from other U.S. cities are available on Delta.

CHINA AIRLINES

A Taiwanese airlines that has its hub in Taipei, Taiwan.  The low priced leader for the industry.  At times their fares are $100 lower than the competition.  Night time departures from San Francisco, 2 from Los Angeles (one day time), and JFK (New York) allow for a mid day arrival in Manila and they have a thru fare to Cebu (using P.A.L. for Manila to Cebu).  Flight requires a change of planes (2 hour layover) in Taiwan (both ways).  Luggage can be checked thru to Manila.  You go thru customs and immigration in Manila.  They have fares from every major U.S. city using American Airlines as their partner carrier (plus 4 or 5 others).

NORTHWEST AIRLINES

Discount specials are sporadic and discount fares are hard to get, but we'll try our best.   They offer morning departures in the U.S. and you arrive the next evening in Manila, too late to make a connecting flight to any Philippine domestic destinations.   Same for the return...flight leaves Manila in the morning and too early to connect from Cebu or interior Philippines.  They do have good connections to almost every major city in the U.S. on their own planes.  The international flights originate in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit and Minneapolis. You change planes for Manila in Seoul, Korea or Narita, Japan (2 hour lay over).  Same for the return...change of planes with at least 2 hour lay over.

EVA AIRLINES

A fairly new airlines...also based in Taipei, Taiwan.  Daily flights now from San Francisco, Los Angeles and Newark.  They offer interline on other U.S. carriers for other U.S. cities.  Same as China Airlines...go thru Taiwan, change planes for Manila.  Price is about the same, but best  advantage to Eva Airlines is the Deluxe Economy Class...for only about $100 each way, you can upgrade to their "almost business class" Deluxe  Economy with more room, bigger seats, wider, more leg room, better food, better service etc.  Best deal going for this "almost business class" service.

CATHAY PACIFIC

A Swire Group company, Cathay Pacific's hub and headquarters is in Hong Kong meaning all flights go thru Hong Kong.  They do have a seperate flight that goes to Cebu and is $100 more than their Manila flight.  This is a great option for those who want to avaid Manila all together. They have daily flights from SFO and LAX and also JFK.   They use the same partner carriers for interior U.S. flights as China Airlines, Eva and others.  Prices are on the high end compared to China Airlines and some of the others, but the convenience of their Cebu Flight makes up for the
extra cost.  Cathay Pacific is perceived by many to be one of the best Asian airlines.  We'll let you decide.  Like China Airlines, discounts are generally always available.  Unlike China Airlines, some flights are sold out months in advance, and seats are hard to get during certain times.

KOREAN AIRLINES

An established airline with its hub in Seoul, Korea, Korean Airlines is very competitive with China Airlines for fares to Manila.  As with all carriers except PAL, you go thru another city, country (Seoul Korea) and change plances for the flight to Manila.   Reports of delays in Seoul are common and some Filipino Passport holders said they had to pay a transit tax in Seoul (but not U.S. Passport holders).  They have interline connections for interior U.S. cities and very competitive in that market also.   Will update you as to arrival time in Manila and whether they have a thru fare to Cebu."Arrival time in Manila is about Noon time, so there is time to connect to Cebu and other interior Philippine Cities.  They have no thru fare to Cebu so we have to add on Cebu at the published price of $130 if you wish to go to Cebu.

ASIANA AIRLINES

Another Korean company, Asiana Airlines, also goes thru Seoul, Korea and you have to change planes for Manila.  They also have some very low airfares.  They are one of the newest airlines in Asia.  As with all Trans-Pacific carriers now, they fly the 747-400 (newest and biggest Boeing 4 engine jet) to their hub and the European Industry Airbus 330 (4 engine 250 passenger jet) to Manila.  Will update you as to their arrival time in Manila and as to whether they have a fare to Cebu."Arrival time in Manila is about Noon time, so there is time to connect to Cebu and other interior Philippine Cities.  They have no thru fare to Cebu so we have to add on Cebu at the published price of $130 if you wish to go to Cebu.

JAPAN AIRLINES

An established airlines based in Japan, Japan Airlines is trying to get their share of the Manila market also with low fares.  They have now added on select cities in the U.S.   Of course, you go via Tokyo or Osaka and change planes for Manila.  Your arrival time in Manila is 9:20 p.m., to late for connections to Cebu or other cities, so would require an overnight on the outbound.  Same is true for the return, departure from Manila is 9:15 a.m. and that would be too early coming from Cebu or other cities and would require an overnight in Manila the night before departure.

CONTINENTAL AIRLINES

Continental Airlines is the only carrier that flies to Manila that allows a stop-over in Honolulu and/or Guam. They use Guam as they hub and a change of planes is necessary there. Arrival in Manila is at night and makes connecting to interior Philippine flights difficult and you have to overnight in Manila. Continental/Micronesia Air is the only carrier for visitng Palau and other Micronesian islands famous for beautiful coral, snorkeling and scuba diving. Fares are not as competitive as other carriers but routing via Honolulu is the outstanding attribute.

PHILIPPINE DOMESTIC CARRIERS

PHILIPPINE AIRLINES

PAL has higher "published fares" than the other domestic carriers, but their planes are newer, better safety record and considering the discount "add-on" when you buy a trans-pacific ticket, it really is a good value. All PAL international and domestic flights now fly in and out of the new Centenial Terminal II in Manila and makes it very convenient not to change terminal when traveling on PAL internationally connecting to PAL domestic.Very convenient for Cebu and Davao passengers to check luggage from the U.S. to their final destination and not have to claim it in Manila.

ASIAN SPIRIT

New small airline flies to out of the way destinations and uses small turbo-prop planes. They took over many of the PAL routes that were dropped when PAL closed in 1998. They aee currently expanding and adding new routes and aircraft.

AIR PHILIPPINES

Not the same as Philippine Airlines. Air Philippines has very competitive fares to major markets, but uses older jets and has been grounded several times for not meeting safety standards.

CEBU PACIFIC

The leader in low fares for Phlippine domestic flights, Cebu Padific uses older DC-9 aircraft and has had several fatal air crashes. You can reserve on-line and they do offer free shuttle service from Manila International Airport Terminal to their domestic terminal.

MINDANAO EXPRESS

Flies from Cebu to most cities on Mindanao. Uses small turbo-prop planes and with no competition, fares tend to be high, but sure beats the long slow boat trip, or God forbid, the bone-jolting bus trip.

TRAVEL TIPS

YOU NEED A VALID PASSPORT TO TRAVE TO THE PHILIPPINES.  You can obtain a passport application from your county clerk or your local post office. You need to send the application along with passport photo, birth certificate and processing fee to the processing center listed on the application.  Processing time is about 6 weeks.  You can have it expedited and returned to you in one week by paying an additional fee.

YOU DO NOT NEED A VISA FROM THE PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT FOR TRAVEL LESS THAN 21 DAYS.  You can write or phone the Philippine Embassy for a visa application for a stay of 21 days or more.  Embassy of the Philippines Chancery: 1600 Massachusetts Ave. NW. 20036 (202-467-9300) (FAX 328-7614)

DISCOUNT TICKETS HAVE RESTRICTIONS THAT APPLY TO THEM.  Be aware of the penalties for cancellation and changes.  On some airlines, it is difficult to get a confirmed seat on an open return with the discount ticket.

JOIN THE AIRLINE'S FREQUENT FLYER CLUB.  It doesn't cost anything to join and some airlines honor other airline's miles.  Simply save your ticket receipt (last portion left after all flights) and ask the airline for an application--usually found in the airline magazine on the plane. Better yet, sign up when you check in.  Even if you are not a frequent flyer, the 6,000 miles each way to the Philippines can give you an upgrade on a domest flight on some airlines.

RECONFIRM YOUR TICKET ON ALL INTERNATIONAL FLLIGHTS AT LEAST 3 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.  Your reservation may be cancelled if you fail to reconfirm before departure even tho you have bought your tickets and have them in your hand.  Most hotels in the Philipines will reconfirm your flights for you either free of charge or for a small fee.  And seasoned travelers will even tell you that they call the airlines the day of travel to see if there is any updated information regarding their flight.

PLAN YOUR TRIP AT LEAST 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE.  If you plan on December travel, purchase your ticket 4 to 6 months in advance for best price and best availability.  Planning in advance will get you the dates and flights that you want.  Last minute ticket purchase is very stressful for you and the travel agent, and seats may not be available.  People who plan at least 30 days in advance can benefit from travel information sent to them from their travel agent and can better understand the culture, customs, traditions etc. regarding the country they will visit.

PACK AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE.  Too many vacations are ruined by trying to take too much or prepare for every emergency onto find out you're lugging luggage all over the world.  Most airlines allow 2 checked bags up to 70 pounds each (you will pay a fine for excess weight) and maximum demensions of 62 inches, height + width + depth.  All airline now only allow one carry on that doesn't excede 45 total inches and up to 25 pounds.  Purse and camera bag do not count as carry on.
