I extracted this definition
from the Albertson College course-major description
from: http://www.acofi.edu/catalog/factsht/econ.htm
I added the bold characters for emphasis: who are economists?
Is it true that, "Blaming the economy on economists
is like blaming the weather on weathermen?"
Economics is a social science concerned chiefly with how society employs its limited resources to produce goods and services for present and future consumption. As a social science it studies the interactions of people, in particular their interactions as they buy and sell. At the same time, however, Economics is study of decision making . The rules for decision making found in Economics can be transferred to many areas, such as government, business, and law.
The Economics Major: The major consists of 30 units in the field of Economics, 18 of which must be earned in six required courses. There are also nine units of required courses from other disciplines. In addition the student must meet all of the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree laid out by Albertson College.
