Left Unsaid
Tiny strains in the fabric
they're so easily overlooked
half a thread broken
here and there
looks like the gentle soft
of use and age
not the heralds
of damage
The warp and woof
we you I woven
over under each other
life walks us strained
against and together
half a thread breaks
here and there
Our fabric thinned
late summer shadows
grey leaves in golden fire
we are turned to lace
holes delicate edged
with unsaid words
that eat at our edges
as we fray
from each other

Jealousy and/or Horsepower
My foot like a fist
punch through the air
rocket
rocket
pull open your shirt
like superman
buttons sparkle fly
fake motherofpearl
tumbles through the air
*SMACKS*
my windshield
*CRACKS*
break tumbles
my breeze pulls
at your clothing
then my dust smokes
around you
an unburnt fire
do you want me to
come back
do you?

Undercurrent
Outside
high tension lines
hold feathered whole notes
melody my eyes
my throat works
with unvoiced birdsong
They talk behind me
as they always do
pleasant glances and calm voices
placid surface covers a room
full of razor edges
Quiet eyes
catch subtle gestures
a thumb that brushes
barely grazes an arm
fingers absently pointed
to that magazine
this purse
someones genitals
the room is greasy with bland smiles
carpeted with bored questions
built like traps
Turned again
back to the window
I softly hum
wings on wire

Midnight clothes packing
A hush outside ticks and sighs
settles down between buildings
the city beds itself
waits for tomorrow
The world winks out around me
one pair of eyes at a time
until only me and my journey
are lit by my gaze
I pack my comfort
clothes that bring pieces
my life clings to them
as they do to me
My armor made of fabric
invisible stains of tears
and the warm spot where
your hand rested on my hip
so much more
in these bags than I put
into them I take with me
my homecoming

Clockwork
Time wears the timekeeper
as green comes up
eyelashes of vibration
ticks fall down
frozen flowers
moments reflected in an eye
that watches green go gold
The timekeeper wears time
flames fall to ground
with the sound of
parting lips that brush
creped cheeks
images worn as corsages
as shadows creep in around them
