John Sutton, Sr.

John Sutton, Sr. and Temperance Lane were married in 1758. To this union, five children were born:

• John Sutton, Jr was born May 25, 1759 and died April 22, 1826. He married Mary Coleman February 3, 1779 inVirginia.
• Robert Sutton was born in 1761 in Virginia and died December 2, 1828 in Kentucky. He married Caroline Coleman.
• William Sutton.
• Mary (Polly) Sutton was born in Virginia and died in Kentucky before 1832. She maried George Call Swetnam March 14, 1794 in Albermarle County, Virginia. (Yes, both Robert Sutton and Polly Sutton are in my direct line.)
• David Sutton was born in 1776.

After the Revolutionary War, the Sutton family and George Call and Polly Swetnam, moved to Kentucky. John Sutton, Sr. died in Scott County, Kentucky June 14, 1810 and his wife Temperance Lane Sutton died in 1817.
