James Cox
James Cox was born to John Cox and Tabitha Amis on December
10, 1786 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. He married Sarah Collins on December
17, 1806 in hawkins County, Tennessee. There were seven children born to
this union:
- Mary Light Cox was born in Tennessee on November 10,
1807
- Gale Cox born September 20, 1809 in Tennessee and died
in Polk County, Tennessee.
- John Rogers Cox was born December 28, 1811 in Tennessee.
- Jane C. Cox was born January 3, 1814 in Tennessee.
- James Wilkerson Cox was born July 2, 1816 and
died October 2, 1892.
- Thomas Edward Cox was born in Hawkins County, Tennessee
on January 9, 1818 and died in Randolph County, Texas on May 11, 1885.
- Abraham V. Cox was born on April 28, 1821 (probably in
Tennessee).
James Cox died in McMinn County, Tennessee on November
14, 1876 and his wife Sarah Collins Cox died February 2, 1858 in Tennessee.
