Our new company, Electronic Orchard is still in its
infancy but we are excited about our future. We have designed a golf site
for a promoter of exclusive golfing events and also a company who promotes
tours to the Phillipines. The genealogy newsletter, Branches, is on line
but it will take some more work to get it updated and keep it current with
new articles. Electronic Orchard's Genealogy Room is also on line. Everything
seems to be working the way it was planned so check it out!! I will be
searching for interesting links to add to this site, so if you have something
that you would like for me to add to either of the link pages, do not hestitate
to ask. This site is for all of us to use and hopefully enjoy.
My husband, Leonard, and I also raise turkeys
(heard all the jokes) and wine grapes. Our farm is about fifteen miles
southwest of Fresno. Ron is still in Corcoran
working for J.G. Boswell Company as an accountant. His dog, Bandit, is
getting along fine. We had some concern when he lost his sight about three
years ago but animals are amazing! He still likes to play ball, though
he now has to listen to know where it lands. Our chow chow, Saja, is ten
years old; she is starting to have trouble with her hips. She still wants
to investigate the fields to see if she can find a dead, stinking turkey
to bring to the yard or stir up a cotton tail rabbit or a ground squirrel
to chase.
My Hobbies:
Genealogy ie: Swetnam, Sullivan, Edwards,
Cox, Thompson, Reed, Simpson and Niepman to name a few! I am reworking
my Swetnam Genealogy Page and hope to have it completed in a couple of
weeks. I have not reworked my Swetnam
Page; my next project will be updating and reworking my JC Swetnam page;
since it was the first, there are major changes to be made and I have been
avoiding it. I have added several family pages (including several Swetnam
pages). Check back often! In addition to adding my family pages to the
genealogy
site , I have linked to other personal genealogy pages.
If you have a genealogy related site, please send me the URL so I can link
to it. I would like to invite you to visit the query section of the Genealogical
Room and post queries and replies. I am still looking for ways to increase
visitors to this site in the hope that we will be able to help each other
with our individual 'brick walls'! I have been contacted by a few individuals
interested in my Swetnam name, as well as a couple searching other of my
surnames. Hopefully this will develop into a treasure trove for all of
us. I enjoy sharing the information that I have.
Fresno States Sports (Basketball).
The 1996-1997 year was a disappointment for my basketball bulldogs, but
the ever optimist, I am looking forward to next year and our new recuits.
The first football game was the end of August; time does fly! We
have a new coach this year and it will be an exciting time watching Pat
Hill rebuild our football program. We have
played two games and have a 1-1 record. This record is not a great yardstick
because last week we beat Portland State, a division 2 school, 35-7 but
last night we lost, at home, to Baylor University 37-35. The game was very
exciting but we committed some costly turnovers. Our inexperience showed!!
Traveling (need to check out the old
home places and cemeteries). One of my goals is to see all fifty states;
I still have several to go. Genealogy seems to take me back to the same
areas each year. I have a great uncle in Texas who will be 100 September,
1997. I hope to get back to Munday, Texas at that time to help him celebrate.
Happy
Birthday Uncle Hub!!! If you know Hub Thompson, wish him a happy birthday
in September! Due to family obligations,
I may not be able to make it to Texas until October, I had hoped to be
there the 20th for the family reunion and the birthday celebration. Visiting
with Uncle Hub will still be a pleasure!!! My
cousin, Faye Railsback, and I made a genealogical trip in May to Missouri
and Iowa. We met some wonderful relatives and even did a little research.
If
we make a trip next year, we are considering Ohio. If there are any Reed
or Simpson relatives from either Montgomery or Darke County, please contact
me.
Amy's Family Pages:(since
this is even getting hard for me to follow, I am adding generation codes
ie: Leonard and I are #1. Let me know if this helps.)
